Before you go
- Ask about allergens when you order: US food law names nine major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame), and kitchens can tell you which dishes contain them.
- Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
- For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

A little out of the way but well worth the drive. The owners Gene and Nancy are wonderful hosts. Get there early or be prepared to wait a bit. The clientele seem to be regulars or at least locals and it is just a very intimate setting. Nancy has done a great job with the decor. It is quite interesting and worth your while to try and see everything. I'm not sure how to describe it; from Americana to Eclectic. But the food is FANTASTIC. We had the ribeye and seafood platter and you're not going find a better steak around SE Alabama or SW Georgia. The tartar sauce and ranch dressing were very good and they make their own ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Drove all way there (live in Tallahassee) and had seen great things about on Facebook. Got there 30 mins after opening. The whole place holds maybe 30 people inside and picnic tables for 24 outside (screened porch). Inside it was full and 6 people eating outside (its hot in sowega) and 29 people outside waiting all over place. Host said would be at least hour. We drove on to Dothan.

The service was absolutely abysmal, everyone's food was wrong, items missing, food delivered to the wrong tables, drinks went empty, the check took forever. The food was not worth the over 1hr wait after we were seated (which was after a half hour wait outside since you have to get there early), and the fried oysters tasted ROTTEN and the scallops were not that great. We were part of the opening crowd and they did not prioritize the only party that had children, which caused them to become increasingly loud and messy. We went here a couple years ago and it was awesome, it has seriously gone downhill. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had.

What a delightful little hide away. The atmosphere is charmingly rustic and the owner is very friendly and attentive. I had the fried shrimp, baked potato and dinner salad. My husband had the hamburger steak with gravy and sauteed onions. It also came with the potato and dinner salad. Everything but the salads was delicious. The salads weren't anything special. They don't have a bar but a limited selection of beer and wine is available for the asking. It's important to note that it's cash or check only.
